Golden Wedding Photography | Elsie & Joe

Anyone who knows me will know how important my family is to me.  I am very lucky to have a great relationship with my parents and so much that is good in my life is down to them.  I know that  should I be lucky enough to have kids of my own one day, my parents would make brilliant, caring grandparents and my brother would make a fantastic uncle.  We all learn and reminisce about our past through our own families, but I think family also enables us envisage our future.

One of my brides-to-be, Jenna, contacted me earlier this year to ask me whether I would photograph her grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary celebrations in Liverpool.  The brief was brief – “catch what you can!” – and that’s what I did.  There was no posing, no formal group photographs, just smiles, laughter and love…

It was lovely to meet Jenna’s family and a privilege to photograph such a milestone for Elsie and Joe.  Because if we’re honest, isn’t this what we’d all like… to sit at a long table after 50 years of happy marriage with the person we love most, surrounded by close family?  Who knows, maybe in 51 years time Jenna and Chris’ will be sitting side by side at a long table surrounded by their own children and grandchildren.  And perhaps for just a brief moment they’ll remember this day and smile.

What wonderful, natural shots Vic – just like the ones of my grandparents Diamond Anniversary that you took. Still look back at those regulary to remind myself of the key to a long and happy relationship like theres – making each other smile at least once a day :o) xxReplyCancel
