One day if I go to heaven… I’ll look around and say “It ain’t bad, but it ain’t San Francisco.”
Back in March I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit this scintillating city for the second time. The first time I visited California was five years ago before I started my photography business. I was an enthusiastic picture taker, but I had a lot to learn. I explored this great american state with one of my oldest friends, who got engaged to her husband soon after we returned home. After a couple of weeks watching me photograph everything and anything, she was convinced I was the person to take her wedding photographs. So in September 2009 I shot my first beautiful wedding at Manchester Town Hall and the rest is history!
Five years later almost to the month, I was back in San Francisco. My Canon 350D Rebel was long gone and I was armed with my Contax, my Leica and a bag full of film. Once again in excellent company with two fellow photographers, I explored the diverse neighbourhoods of San Francisco and yes, took some pictures…
This series of photographs was featured on the über cool travel blog Fernwehosophy back in April.
