I always get such a buzz visiting places for the first time. My eyes greedily absorb all the sights and my brain goes into overdrive trying to understand what this new place is all about. Later this week I’ll be jetting off on a 15 day trip which will take me to Toronto, New York, Washington DC, Rockland and finally Boston and I can’t wait! It’s going to be brilliant; exhilarating and no doubt exhausting.
So before I go I thought I’d take a deep breath and reflect on a part of the world I’ve visited more times than I can remember and will certainly return to again and again. Being in Provence and the Cote d’Azur feels like home away from home for me. Looking at these photographs reminds me that there is as much joy to be had from relaxing in a familiar environment as there is from exploring a new one. This beautiful planet is too vast to explore thoroughly in a single lifetime and whilst we might try our best, it’s also important to build a continuum of memories in places which are close to our hearts.
